Walks, Activities and Attractions
There are plenty of walks directly from the campsite along public footpaths, as well as the beautiful Torrent Walk 2 miles up the road. We also recommend Llwybr Cynwch/Precipice Walk 3 miles away. For the fit, Cadair Idris (893m) is a gem, as are both Aran Benllyn (885m) and Aran Fawddwy (905m), and all manage to avoid the hordes you’ll get on Snowdon/Yr Wyddfa (approx. 35 miles away).
Superb mountain biking is available at Coed y Brenin (11 miles away) (you can cycle there via quiet lanes if you’re really fit). Safe family cycling and walking along Llwybr Mawddach Trail which winds for 9.5 miles (15km) along the disused railway track on the southern edge of the spectacular Mawddach estuary, between Dolgellau and Barmouth.
Watersports at Llyn Tegid, Bala (15 miles away), white water rafting at Canolfan Dŵr Gwyn Cenedlaethol/National White Water Centre at Frongoch near Bala (18 miles away) and there are beautiful beaches all along the coast.
